Code of Conduct

Effective · Version 2026-10-09

In short, be kind, play fair, and don't cheat, bot or trade for real money. These rules are part of the Terms of Service and apply in the game and in chat.

1. Be respectful

pkmn is a small community, and most of the people in it are here to have fun. Treat them the way you'd want to be treated, even when you disagree.

Players are 13 and up, so keep chat and names suitable for that audience.

2. No harassment or hate

  • No insults, threats, bullying, or following a player around to bother them.
  • No hate speech or slurs about race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or anything similar.
  • No sexual content, and nothing violent or shocking.
  • No sharing someone else's personal information, like their real name, address or photos.
  • No spam, scams or advertising.
  • No links to ROMs or pirated content.

3. Play fair

  • No cheating. Don't use modified clients, memory editors or tools that change the game.
  • No bots, macros or scripts that play for you.
  • No exploiting bugs. If you find one that gives you an advantage, report it instead of using it.
  • No real-money trading. Don't buy or sell Pokémon, items, characters or accounts for real money or anything outside the game.
  • No sharing, selling or borrowing accounts.

4. Don't pretend to be someone else

Don't claim to be staff, a moderator or another player, and don't pick a name that makes people think you are. Staff will never ask for your password.

5. Reporting a problem

If someone is breaking these rules, write to [email protected]. Include the player's name, when it happened, what happened, and screenshots if you have them. Reports are kept private. For bugs in the game, use the bug report option in the game instead.

6. What staff can do

Depending on what happened and how often, staff may:

  • give a warning,
  • mute you in chat,
  • remove a message or rename a character,
  • take back items or Pokémon gained by breaking the rules,
  • suspend your account for a while, or
  • close your account for good.

Serious cases, like threats or cheating, can lead straight to a suspension or ban. Staff use judgment. Something this page doesn't list can still be against the rules if it harms other players or the game.

7. Appeals

If you think a decision was wrong, write to [email protected] from the email address on your account. Explain what happened and why you think it should change. We will look at it again and reply. Please send one appeal per decision.
